From 1988 through 2004, Viisha Sedlak was founder and national director
of the American Walking Association, an educational and networking company for walkers of all levels and ages. In the
1980's Viisha was ranked third in the world as an ultra-distance runner. Viisha was the #1 world ranked masters female
racewalker, undefeated for eight years as she set 24 world records. A seven-year member of the USA Track and Field Team,
she competed in two US Olympic Trials and was the oldest competitor in the 1992 Olympic Trials at age 44. She has, three
times, in National and International Championships, beaten all the men as well as all the women in the race.
She served 8 years as athlete's representative to the US Olympic Committee and on USOC Cultural
Exchange and Anti-Doping Committees. She was a 1997 nominee to the USA Track and Field Hall of Fame.
She represented, as corporate spokesperson, for over a decade, Easy Spirit shoes, the USA Rice Council, and Johnson &
Johnson. For the past 24 years Viisha has been coaching and speaking with a focus on mental training and self-care.
She has been profiled by CNN, USA Today, New York Times, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Crook and Chase, Walking Magazine,
and many others for her wellness coaching and her athletic accomplishments.
